How to get there?
The quickest way to Binalong Bay is via the Fingal Valley through St Marys, which take approx 2 hours from Launceston or 3-3.5 hours from Hobart. A more picturesque drive is via Scottsdale through the winding mountains just out of Launceston which features many worthwhile places of interest along the way, allow approx 2.5 hours.
Accessible noteworthy locations for a full or part day road trip from Binalong Bay include Pyengana Dairy Company (approx 30 mins), St Columba Falls (approx 40 mins), Freycinet National Park, Wineglass Bay, Coles Bay (approx 1.5 hrs), St Helens village/wharf/shops (10 mins) and the fantastic Life Buoy Cafe for a great breakfast and also has a treasure trove of all things old and quirky. Plenty of second-hand books ideal for holiday reading.
